How can I make sure my listing is eligible to be shown on Google (and other search engines)?
This article explains how you can make sure your listing is eligible to be shown in search engines (such as Google, Bing, etc...).
This setting applies to your entire Airbnb account, so it will impact all of your listings if you have more than one.
How to check if my Airbnb listing is eligible to be shown in search engines using a computer?
To check you have set your account to show your listing(s) in search engines on a computer, you should:
- Log into your Airbnb account, click on your profile picture on the top-right corner of the screen, and select 'Account';
- once you're in the 'Account' section, you will see several options.
You should select 'Privacy and sharing'; - it will give you three options on the 'Privacy and sharing' page ("Data", "Sharing", "Services").
You have to select "Sharing"; - Here, below 'Activity sharing', you will see two options.
The second one is "Include my listing(s) in search engines".
If you have this turned on, as it is in the picture above, it means all the listings published in your account can be shown in search results.
If you want to hide the listing from search engines, you should turn that option off by simply clicking on the toggle.
You can visually see the steps in the gallery below (click on the picture to expand it).
You can also get to the 'Privacy and Sharing' page straight from here:

How do I make sure my Airbnb listing is eligible to be shown in search engines using the app?
To check you activated the setting to show your listings in search engines using the app, you should log into the app and switch to hosting (you don't necessarily need to do that, but we will assume so for the sake of simplicity).
Then you should:
- Tap on 'Menu' at the bottom
- Tap on "Settings"
- Select "Privacy & sharing"
- Select "Sharing"
- Turn off the "Include my listing(s) in search engines" option
You can visually see the steps in the gallery below (click on the picture to expand it).
Making listings eligible to be shown in search engines doesn't necessarily mean they will be shown on Google and other search engines.
Turning the setting above on only means that your listing(s) can be shown in search engines.
However, there are many other factors involved in finding your listings in search engines. In particular:
- The keywords you're using;
- For how long the listing has been published;
- The availability of other listings with the same name.
Ultimately, Airbnb has no control over what search engines display, as they're completely different companies.
